Project Overview

For LAWN & ORDER, I created a playful yet cohesive brand identity that blends the world of landscaping with the iconic visual cues of the well-known crime show. The goal was to represent the idea of restoring order to unruly lawns while building a memorable, humorous, and highly recognizable visual system.

Objectives

The identity was designed to:

  • Visually connect the concept of “law and order” with landscaping
  • Use humor without sacrificing professionalism
  • Create a flexible system that works across digital, print, and physical applications
  • Make the brand instantly recognizable and easy to recall

Scope of Work

Logo Design

The logo features scales of justice, with each basket filled with grass, symbolizing the balance between a well-maintained and neglected lawn. This literal fusion of law and landscaping reinforces the brand name while staying bold and versatile. The logo works in monochrome or in full-color variations.

Color Palette

The palette draws directly from the natural environment:

  • Green — grass
  • Yellow — sun
  • Blue — sky
  • Brown — soil and wood

Together, these colors create a warm, harmonious, and approachable identity. They also offer strong contrast, ensuring the brand stands out without appearing loud or overwhelming.

Typography System

  • Logo Type: Uses the original LAW & ORDER font to strengthen the connection with the show and anchor the concept visually.
  • Secondary & Body Fonts: Clean, recognizable, and easy to scale, ensuring clarity across all media—from yard signs to social content.

Social Media Direction

The social content leverages the playful relationship between the crime-show theme, customer lawns, and the landscaping services. Posts maintain visual consistency, work well both digitally and in print, and help establish a humorous yet trusted brand persona.
